In the monograph, the issue of regional resilience is considered through the prism of institutionalization of cooperation between East Asian countries in the face of shocks and disruptions, which is a remedy for development challenges in times of permanent uncertainty and instability.

  5. prof. PhD., habil. Jerzy Menkes – SGH;

The foreword to the monograph was prepared by prof. Keisuke Mark Abe and prof. Yoshiaki Sato from Seikei University (Tokyo, Japan).

The review of regional, transregional and subregional cooperation initiatives to build regional resilience is accompanied by a critical analysis of a wide range of issues, such as: international security, international trade, economic development, value chains and social well-being. The adoption of the concept of resilience allowed for a holistic, dynamic and systematic approach to research on the processes of institutionalization, strengthening the responsiveness and adaptive potential of countries in the region of East Asia.

The monograph is the culmination of research conducted in 2022-2023 by the above-mentioned author’s team under research grant of the SGH-UEW entitled “Quo Vadis, Asia? Development Challenges of East Asia in the 21st Century”. The publication was financed by the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, WUEB (Poland) and the SGH Warsaw School of Economics (Poland).
