
4th place in a nationwide poll and 693 votes of support – more than just a result. It is a sign of trust that dr Szymon Mazurek, Associate Professor at WUEB, has earned among students and academic communities across Poland.
The distinction was awarded as part of the 2025 National Education Poll, organized by the “Gazeta Wrocławska” editorial office and the Polska Press Group. The rankings are based entirely on public voting.
Dr Szymon Mazurek, Associate Professor at WUEB, is an economist specializing in digital economy, platform markets, international ecommerce, and Asia–Europe economic relations. He is the Director of the Asia–Pacific Research Center and a member of the Department of International Economic Relations at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business.
He has lectured internationally in Japan (Seikei University, Kanagawa University, Takasaki City University of Economics), Hungary, and the Czech Republic. His research covers organizational innovation, platform economics, crowdsourcing, and network-based business models. In his teaching, he combines global economic issues with critical thinking and student engagement:
Studying is not just about gaining knowledge – that’s only a few clicks away. A university is a place for encounters, exploration, and growth in one’s own unique direction. I simply try not to get in the way – says prof. Mazurek.
This distinction is not only a personal success. It also confirms that teaching built on trust, accessibility, and intellectual rigor remains a pillar of education at WUEB.
