A paper index book, a formal pledge and the first public speeches – this is how the Economic University for Children begins at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business. Patrycja Kowalczyk-Rólczyńska, PhD, Associate Professor at WUEB, shows that pupils in Years 5-6 can not only understand finance and entrepreneurship, but even enjoy learning about them.
During the classes, children explore budgeting, teamwork, critical thinking and public speaking. They learn economics through real-life examples – from inflation to everyday spending decisions. At the same time, parents take part in parallel sessions on household finances and family education.
The programme is free of charge, runs twice a year and consistently attracts full groups.
