UEW Expert Featured in German Public Radio on Poland’s Retail Phenomenon

Dr Jarosław Ignacy on Żabka store chain and everyday infrastructure in Deutschlandfunk Kultur. Why has Poland’s dynamic convenience store model not taken root in Germany? This question was explored by one of Germany’s leading public radio stations in a recent feature on the success of Żabka – the country’s most recognisable retail network.

The report includes expert commentary from Dr Jarosław Ignacy of the Wrocław University of Economics and Business, a specialist in organizational development strategies and consumer trends.

His insights help explain to international audiences how Żabka reflects deeper changes in mobility, lifestyle, and consumption patterns in contemporary Poland.

Żabka reflects the modern rhythm of life in Poland. Shopping is no longer an event – it’s part of the everyday. The format fits perfectly into the spontaneous, mobile lifestyle of younger consumers.

This international media presence is yet another example of WUEB researchers contributing to global public debate, and of the growing recognition of our research beyond Poland.
