From January 18th to 20th, 2025, the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business (WUEB) had the privilege of hosting prof. Hee-Jung Jun, Ph.D., from the Department of Public Administration/Graduate School of Public Administration, Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. The visit was organized as part of the Co-teaching Project, aimed at enhancing international academic cooperation and fostering the exchange of knowledge and expertise. The collaboration aligns with WUEB’s internationalization development process.
Professor Hee-Jung Jun was welcomed by prof. dr hab. Bogusława Drelich-Skulska, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation. The meeting explored the progress of the Co-teaching Project, as well as opportunities for expanding joint research and collaborative initiatives between Sungkyunkwan University and WUEB. This meeting laid the foundation for future cooperation and highlighted the potential for deepening academic partnerships.

Inspiring lecture for students
As part of the visit, Professor Hee-Jung Jun delivered a seminar titled “Social Inclusion and Mixed-Income Development” for students of the Real Estate and Spatial Economy program. It focused on research findings and futures directions in urban planning that promote inclusivity and equity, sparking lively discussions and inspiring students to think critically about sustainable urban development.
Visit to LG Solution
Professor Hee-Jung Jun, accompanied by dr Anna Mempel-Śnieżyk, prof. UEW from Department of Spatial Economy and Local Government Administration, participated in a productive meeting at LG Solution and the discussion revolved around:
- the impact of LG Solution’s activities on urban and regional development, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, housing, and transportation,
- the strategic reasons behind LG’s decision to establish operations in Poland, such as government incentives and regional advantages,
- LG’s role in fostering local employment, engaging with the community, and promoting sustainability.
The visit offered valuable insights into the synergy between global enterprises and local development, providing practical perspectives to inform research and policy-making. Professor Hee-Jung Jun’s visit exemplified the power of international academic collaboration and fostered a deeper understanding of the connections between global initiatives and local impact. We look forward to further enriching our partnership with Sungkyunkwan University.
