International Mobility Fairs 2024, the first Mobility Fair held at the University on February 28, 2024, is behind us. The official opening of the Fair and the welcoming of guests, students, and employees were made by the authorities of our University: Rector prof. dr hab. Andrzej Kaleta, Vice-Rector for Accreditation and International Cooperation prof. dr hab. Bogusława Drelich-Skulska, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Academic Programs prof. dr hab. inż. Edmund Cibis and Vice-Rector for Finance and Development dr hab. Bartłomiej Nita, prof. UEW.
Students and staff visited the stands of partner universities, where eight universities from four countries (Czech Republic, Lithuania, Germany, Türkiye) presented their offer. In addition, our guests had the opportunity to participate in online meetings with four more universities from Austria, Germany and Portugal (full list of guests below).
We also invited foreign students visiting our University as part of the Erasmus+ program, who shared their experiences with our students and talked about living and studying conditions in their countries. Their presence at the Fair showed that international mobility is available to everyone.
The International Mobility Section provided students with answers to questions about travel and paperwork. Also present at the Fair were representatives of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and the Welcome Center, who provided help and support. There were also cultural elements – lecturers from Japan, Ms. Yoshiko Soneda and Fumiko Kobayashi, taught Fair participants how to write their own name in Japanese and how to fold traditional origami. The Japanese booth was very popular.
The goal of the International Mobility Fairs 2024 was to create an inspiring space to promote international mobility and inform students about opportunities for internships or studying at partner universities abroad. In 2023, UEW has secured record funding under the Erasmus + program (more than EUR 2 million), so we encourage all representatives of our University community to participate in mobility and internships abroad.
