WUEB co-authors the Poznan Declaration. 11 priorities for the Polish economy

The 11th Congress of Polish Economists in Poznan concluded with the adoption of the Poznan Declaration – a set of 11 recommendations intended to guide the development of the Polish economy in the years ahead. Representatives of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business (WUEB) played an active role in drafting the document.

Deklaracja Poznańska UEW

On 4–5 December 2025, Poznan became the focal point for discussion on how to build an economy that is resilient to shocks, internationally competitive and socially cohesive.

The 11th Congress of Polish Economists, combined with the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Polish Economic Society, brought together representatives of academia, public administration, business, civil society organisations and the media, and served as the most important economic policy forum in Poland this year.

The outcome of the deliberations is the Poznan Declaration – 11 coherent recommendations addressing, among others, the rebuilding of trust in public institutions and the strengthening of the constitutional principle of the social market economy, the development of a long-term strategy for Poland’s growth, economic and energy security, a responsible green and digital transition (including the use of artificial intelligence), as well as the development of economic education and an evidence-based debate on Poland’s place in the European Union. The document organises the key challenges – from the sustainability of public finances and demographic ageing to corporate productivity and innovation – and anchors them in a long-term perspective.

The leadership and experts of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business co-created the programme of the Congress, contributing to its overall design and to the key substantive debates. Thanks to this engagement, WUEB is not only present in the national economic debate, but also actively helps shape the thinking of the Polish Economic Society and the Congress partners on resilience, competitiveness and the sustainable development of the Polish economy.

Responding to the appeal of the Organising Committee, we are joining the dissemination of the Poznan Declaration and encourage you to read the full document, which is an invitation to broad cooperation in support of a modern, responsible and solidarity-based economy.
